As an affiliate of the Pennsylvania
Workforce Improvement Network, the Literacy Council routinely provides training for
employees in: basic workplace skills such as reading with understanding, applying
mathematical concepts and operations, locating/using resources, writing clearly and
concisely, listening with understanding, observing critically, and understanding
technology; basic workplace knowledge such as working within organizational
structure and culture, understanding finances, demonstrating quality conciousness,
understanding process and product, and applying health and safety concepts; and basic
employability skills such as interpersonal relations, self-management, team work,
problem solving, and decision making. All training is customized to needs of the employer. Both on-site and off-site training is available. Minimum class size is six persons for off-site and ten persons for on-site. |
