On The Job Training (OJT) and Subsidized Employment (SE) are federally funded initiatives designed to enable an employer to train eligible participants hands-on in his own workplace.

Employers benefit in a number of ways when using OJT/SE for hiring. Employers may receive a 50% wage reimbursement by hiring and training eligible individuals on the job for a specific period of time. The duration of this training time is dependent upon the participant's past work experience and educational attainment as well as the level of difficulty on the job. Depending upon the type of job and the assessment of a participant selected, an employer may receive up to 1000 hours of training.

Hiring or advancing someone through OJT or SE reduces the employer's initial training cost.

The employer receives referrals of eligible partcipants who have been thoroughly assessed (reading and math grade levels, aptitudes, cognitive abilities, participant interests, etc.)
